Zac Fruedenberg Finishes 19th at Boston!!!

St. Louis' own, Zac Fruedenberg finished 19th at this year's Boston Marathon. He ran the course in under 2:20, qualifying him for the Olympic Marathon Trials, next summer. He was the 4th American to finish the race and the first "non-elite" athlete to finish. When I talked to him, he thought it was funny that the "elite" athletes finishing in front of and behind of him were going to the tent with all of the physical therapists and medics for treatment, and he was forced to the tent with the oranges and water.

Once a Runner Movie

Once a Runner is my favorite book, I have read it a few times in the past two years and the other day I found this site and actually thought they were going to make a movie about it. The trailer looks so awesome, but then I found out that it was just for a class. But you should still check it out www.oncearunnermovie.com

Andy Koziatec wins the Saint Louis Half Marathon

Andy Koziatec, a friend of mine won the St. Louis half marathon a few weekends ago. It was an impressive win for a hard working person. Congradulations to Andy for the much deserved win!!!

Coaching Change

Lindenwood's track team will be going under yet another coaching change. This is the 4th coaching change in 4 years for the team. This year, however, head coach Jim Cox was let go at the end of Indoor season instead of the end of the year. It is unknown at this time who will be taking his place next year, however, throwing coach Richard Cochran.

Track Meets cancelled

There were a lot of track meets cancelled this weekend because of the wind and unseasonablly cool temperatures. One local meet that was cancelled was the Mizzou Invitational, that is where Lindenwood was going to be competing this weekend. As of right now, they have not scheduled a make up date.

Cornerstone Festival

Yes, another post for my little brother's band, you can help send them to Cornerstone Festival by going to www.cornerstonefestival.com and going to the new band showcase and voting for them!

Spirit of Saint Louis Marathon

The Spirit of Saint Louis Marathon is this weekend. There is a 5k on Saturday and the half marathon and marathon are on Sunday, with festivities going on all weekend long. So everyone should go downtown and just have fun, it should be a party all weekend!!

Warm Weather Coming

There is good news for the future, but kind of distant future. On Thursday it is supposed to be in the 60's again, but what stands in our way from that is another couple of days of rain and highs in the 50's. Atleast there is some relief in sight.

College Basketball

So the season is officially over, even though the season was basically over for me when Mizzou did not make the Tournament. But, hopefully next year things will be different, so while I am sad that the season is over, I am also relieved and happy because the stress of watching Mizzou suck is now over for another season. Things will be better next year.

300

I saw the movie 300 a few weeks ago and decided it was a very good movie, it was very inspiring and I ran hard the next day after watching it.

Lindenwood gets 6th at Nationals

The Lindenwood men's Track team was 6th at Nationals in indoor track this year. After coming off of a National Championship team the year before, the team went through some coaching changes and did not perform as well as they did the year before. However, considering the situation and the circumstances, 6th was a very good showing, so give credit to the athletes for competing so well.
